Definition: Rows run horizontally in an Excel worksheet.

Each row is identified by a number in the row header.

There are more than one million rows in each Excel worksheet.

The intersection point between a row and a column is called a cell.

Cells are the basic storage unit for data in a spreadsheet program.

Row numbers are used as part of a cell reference such as A1, B23, or AA456.

Cell references identify the cell where data is located.

In a cell reference, the row number - such as 1, 23, or 456 - always comes after the column letter.
