Writing and Copying the Net Salary Formula

  1. Select cell D7 in the spreadsheet.
  2. Type = B7 - C7 in cell D7 to subtract the deductions from the gross salary.
  3. Press the ENTER key on the keyboard.
  4. Select cell D7 again
  5. Click on the fill handle in the bottom right corner of cell D7.
  6. Drag down with the mouse to cell D10 to copy the formula from D7 to cells D8 to D10.
