Step 1 - Choosing a Graph Type
Remember: What most of us call a bar graph is referred to, in Excel, as a column chart, or a bar chart.
Pick a Chart on the Standard Tab
- Pick a Chart type from the left panel
- Pick a chart sub-type from the right panel
Note: If you want to create graphs that are a bit more exotic, choose the Custom Types tab at the top of the Chart Type dialog box.
For this tutorial
(on the Standard Chart Types tab)
- Choose the Column chart type in the left hand pane.
- Choose the Clustered Column chart sub-type in the right hand pane.
- Click Next.
