A style in Excel 2007 is a combination of formatting options that is named and saved as part of your current workbook. Once created, this style can be copied and used on data and cells in other workbooks as well.

Steps to Copying a Custom Formatting Style in Excel 2007

  1. Open the workbook that contains the custom style you want to copy. cell.

  2. Open the workbook that you will copy the style into.

  3. In this second workbook, click the Home tab on the ribbon.

  4. Click on the Cell Styles option on the ribbon to open the Cell Styles gallery.

  5. Click on the Merge Styles option at the bottom of the gallery to open the Merge Styles dialog box.

  6. Click on the name of the workbook containing the style to be copied.

  7. Click OK.

To apply the new style to cells in your spreadsheet

  1. Select the desired cells.

  2. Click the Home tab on the ribbon.

  3. Click on the Cell Styles option on the ribbon to open the Cell Styles gallery.

  4. Click on the new style name at the top of the gallery.

  5. The style's formatting is immediately applied to the selected cells.

Note: If you want a custom style to be available to all workbooks, Create a Template in Excel 2007.
