Conditionally Formatting Dates in Excel

The "conditional" part of conditional formatting means that you get to control when and where formatting changes are applied. If the data meets a certain condition, then the formatting change occurs.

Conditional formatting can be very useful when it comes to dates. Changing the color of the data or the cell background makes it easy to spot upcoming important dates or those that are past due.
