A multiple cell or multi cell array formula is an array formula that is, as the name suggests, located in multiple worksheet cells.
How it works is the same formula is located in a number of cells, but instead of single cell references pointing to the data's location, the formula contains arrays pointing to ranges of data.
Each instance of the formula is supplied with different data depending on its location and, therefore, the answers for each instance differs based on the data supplied to it.
