Usually data in Excel is sorted by such things as names, titles, or values.
Another, lesser known, option is to sort data by color - either font color or the background color of a cell.
Maybe you have used conditional formatting to shade cells with above or below average values or you have formatted negative numbers to be displayed in red.
If so, then sorting by color allows you to group this data together to makes it easier read or to spot trends in a worksheet.
