Excel 2007 LEFT Function

Friday October 2, 2009

When data is imported or copied into a spreadsheet unwanted characters or words can sometimes be included with the new data.

Excel has several functions that can be used to remove these unwanted characters and allow the data to be used in calculations.

The LEFT function is one of these. It allows you to specify how many characters in a cell you wish to keep. These characters are then copied to a new cell for you to work with.

To find out the details of using this function read the article on the Excel 2007 LEFT Function.
