Adding a Series of Numbers with the Fill Handle

Wednesday June 3, 2009
Like format painter, Excel's fill handle is a very useful feature.

In addition to copying functions and formulas, from one cell to another, or adding lists of preset data such as the days of the week, the fill handle can also add a series of data to a spreadsheet.

All you need to do is give it a pattern to follow - such as counting by 2's or using odd numbers only - and the fill handle will repeat the series as often as you want.

To find out how easy it is to do this, read the quick tip on Adding a Series of Numbers with the Fill Handle.
