Conditional Formatting for Dates
Friday May 29, 2009
In Excel 2007, Microsoft has increased the options available for conditional formatting.
Conditional formatting allows you to add special formatting options to specific areas of your spreadsheets.
The “conditional” part of the name means that you can control when and where these formatting changes are applied. If the data meets a certain condition, then the formatting change occurs.
One of the new options for conditional formatting in Excel 2007 allows you to easily add formatting so that important dates - past, present, or future - can quickly be spotted. This means that overdue bills or upcoming payments can be made to standout by changing the background color of the cell for example.
