Excel 2007 INT Function

Monday May 4, 2009
The INT function in Excel is similar to the ROUND function in that it is used to reduce the number of decimal places of data. How it differs is that it always removes all decimal places leaving only the whole number.

Removing decimal places, or the fractional part of a number, often makes data easier to comprehend. If you use information from your spreadsheets in presentations, shortening data to just the whole number when possible can make it easier for your audience to understand your message.

To find out how to use this function, read the short article on the Excel 2007 INT Function.
