Excel 2007 MID Function

Wednesday April 8, 2009
Like the previously mentioned LEFT and RIGHT functions, the Excel MID function can be used to remove unwanted characters from imported data.

The MID function is used when unwanted characters are present on both sides of the good data. It allows you to specify how many characters in the center of the data you wish to keep. These characters are then copied to a new cell.

If extra characters are not removed from your good data, they can cause problems when trying to use the data in formulas or other calculations.

To find out the details of using this function read the article on the Excel 2007 MID Function.
