Excel 2007 CONVERT Function
Wednesday March 11, 2009
Have you ever wondered how many inches there are in a 23.62 miles? Well, in case you ever do, the answer is 1,496,563.20 inches.
I found the answer using Excel, but not by multiplying 23.62 x 5,280 x 12 to get the answer. What I did do was use the CONVERT function in Excel to find out how many inches are in 23.62 miles.
As well as common measurements, such as miles to kilometers, hours to minutes, or degrees Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit, the CONVERT function can be used to convert more specialized measurements such as atmospheric pressure, units of force, and energy.
A complete list of units that can be converted can be found under Excel's Help option.
To find out how to use this handy function in a spreadsheet read the short article on the Excel 2007 CONVERT Function.
